If you've been thinking about exploring downtown, and want to visit when things are really hopping, I recommend the Downtown LA Art Walk, which happens every second Thursday. It starts at noon and runs until late night, but the real excitement starts around 6pm at the ground zero of Fifth and Main Streets.
